The Scituate School District (Awarding Authority), invites sealed bids from General Contractors for the Scituate HS Locker Room Renovation Phase I located on 606 Chief Justice Cushing Hwy, Scituate, Massachusetts, in accordance with the documents prepared by Habeeb & Associates Architects dated 16 March 2022. The project consists of the demolition of the existing boy's locker room, showers, toilet rooms, and office space and the construction of the new boys and girls physical education locker rooms including separate toilet and shower facilities, and two associated offices. Deduct Alternate 1 includes the deletion of Phenolic Core Toilet Compartments and the addition of Plastic Toilet Compartments. Award is anticipated for May 2022 with mobilization and work to commence in June 2022. The project will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder. Bids are subject to M.G.L. c.149 44A-J & to minimum wage rates as required by M.G.L. c.l49 26 to 27H inclusive. General bidders must be certified by the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) in the following category of work General Building Construction and must submit a current DCAMM Certificate of Eligibility and signed DCAMM Prime Update Statement (Form CQ 3). General bids and sub-bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit that is not less than five (5%) of the greatest possible bid amount (considering all alternates), and made payable to the Town of Scituate. All bids shall remain in effect for sixty (60) days, Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays not included, after the opening of General Bids. The Awarding Authority reserves the right to waive any informalities to accept or reject, in whole or in part any or all bids, or take whatever other action may be deemed to be in the best interest of the Mendon-Upton Regional School District. The Awarding Authority does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, pregnancy, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital/civil union status, ancestry, place of birth, age, citizenship status, veteran status, political affiliation, genetic information or disability. The Contract will be awarded to the bidder deemed by the Awarding Authority to be the lowest responsible and eligible bidder in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws. The Awarding Authority reserves the right to evaluate responsiveness and responsibility of all contractors, including pre-qualified contractors, throughout the procurement and contracting process. BONDS: The successful general bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and Payment Bond each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract sum. Bonds shall be obtained from a surety licensed to do business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Filed sub-bidders must be DCAMM certified for the trades listed below and bidders must include a current DCAMM Sub-Bidder Certificate of Eligibility and a signed DCAMM Sub-Bidders Update Statement.
