REPLACE MAIN ELECTRICAL DISTRIBUTION PANEL (ROOM B16) Work shall be performed under this Contract on the campus of the University of Iowa at Van Allen Hall, 30 North Dubuque Street, Iowa City, Iowa 52242. a) General: 1. Demolition: i. General: Remove wall section for new door between Rooms B15 and B23. ii. Electrical: Remove switchboards; switchboard internals; distribution panels; disconnect switches; transformers; cables; raceways including conduit, wireways, and cable trays; and associated supports. etc. 2. Site work: iii. Construction fencing. iv. Site restoration. 3. Concrete: Grouting door frame. 4. Architectural: Hollow metal door, frame, and door hardware. 5. Painting: Door frame, door leaf, and south wall Room B23. 6. Electrical: v. Provide temporary 500 kVA, 480V/208V stepdown transformer. vi. Provide temporary 1,600A, 208V fused disconnect switch with 1,200A fuses. vii. Provide switchboards MSB-3 and MSB-4 viii. Provide power distribution panels PBB, P1D, and P1E. ix. Provide back power distribution termination block subpanel for existing Main Distribution Panel MDP-1. x. Provide door panels for existing Main Distribution Panel MDP-1. xi. Provide cables and raceways including conduit, wireways, and supports. xii. Conduct electrical outages during weekends. b) Phase 1 work: 1. Provide construction fencing as shown on Drawings. 2. Electrical outage shall not be scheduled until the following equipment has been received: a. Provide temporary 500 kVA, 480V/208V stepdown transformer. Locate, at grade, to the west of the electrical areaway. b. Provide temporary 1,600A, 208V fused disconnect switch with 1,200A fuses. Locate, at grade, to the west of the electrical areaway. 3. Furnish primary cables from the 480V switchboard MSB1 located in Room B15 to the temporary transformer. 4. Provide secondary cables from the temporary transformer to temporary 1,600A fused disconnect switch. 5. Furnish temporary 1,600A fused disconnect switch to the main distribution panel MDP-1 located in Room B16. 6. Test and record phase rotation for post installation testing.
