As of May 5, 2022, project was awarded to Cal Valley Construction, awarded amount is $4,330,007.60. Direct questions to Grey Tompkins, Engineer IV, GTompkins@tularecounty.ca.gov, (559) 624-7194. Questions will not be accepted if received after 5:00 pm Wednesday March 24, 2022 The work to be done consists, in general, of a combination of isolated pavement repairs followed by the installation of new asphalt surfacing. Other items or details not mentioned herein that are required by the plans, Standard Specifications or these Special Provisions must be performed, constructed, furnished or installed. This project is off of the Federal Highway System. This project is a Non-Federal Aid project with an estimated project cost of approximately $4,800,000. The contract will be awarded to the responsible bidder submitting the lowest priced responsive bid. The Project is to be completed within sixty (60) working days from the date to be established in the NOTICE TO PROCEED. The Contract includes provisions for Liquidated Damages if the Project is not timely completed. Technical questions should be directed in writing to Grey Tompkins at the Resource Management Agency, 5961 S. Mooney Blvd, Visalia CA 93277 or at gtompkins@tularecounty.ca.gov . No questions will be accepted within five (5) working days of the bid opening (Questions must be received by 5:00 pm on Wednesday March 24, 2021). All questions and responses will be continuously posted on the County. The successful bidder must provide the performance bond, payment bond, workers compensation certificate, and liability insurance policy required by the Special Provisions and contract. Two Million dollars ($2,000,000) liability coverage is required for this project. The Board of Supervisors reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and/or waive any informality in any bid, and/or determine in its discretion the responsibility of any bidder. The Board of Supervisors further reserves the right to use County Forces, or to negotiate contracts, or both, to the extent authorized by the Public Contract Code.
