Stormwater Pond Dredging The proposed project is located within the Tuxedo Park Community in northern Lady's Island. Plats of the area can be found in Exhibit A and Exhibit B. The pond collects water from both the Tuxedo Park community and other areas west of Sams Point Road. The pond outfalls into Lucy Creek over a weir. An existing pond of approximately 3 acres, used for stormwater management, currently has compromised volume due to intense sedimentation which has been quantified and identified in a bathymetric survey. To increase hydraulic retention time and thereby promote water quality and quantity control in this sensitive area, this pond needs to be dredged back to designed and permitted conditions. The bathymetric survey, which is provided in Exhibit C, indicated an area of .89 acres needs dredging. The average cut needed in this pond is 4.4 feet. It is estimated that 6,317 cubic yards of insitu sediment will be removed in this process. Dredge spoil removed from the pond should be dewatered on site. Once dewatered, the county will remove the spoil in-house. A county easement on a dike adjacent to the outfall of the pond is available for use as a staging and dewatering area. There is additional common community property directly north of the pond that can also be used for staging and dewatering with a temporary construction easement that will be obtained when the project is scheduled
