SMSS CDP DEMOLITION Date Email Questions Due 04/18/2022 @ 3:00 PM Date Email Answers Issued 04/13/2022 Anticipated Construction Start 05/09/2022 Anticipated Construction Finish No Later Than 07/24/2022 The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) is seeking a Contractor to perform demolition of the former Cyanide Destruction Plant (CDP) at the Summitville Mine Superfund Site (SMSS), located approximately 25 miles south of Del Norte, Colorado The CDP is a pre-engineered, two-story metal building built in 1985 for cyanide destruction processing, storage, and office space. It is approximately 275 feet long (east-west) and 60 feet wide (north-south), located about 2,000 feet southeast of the active Water Treatment Facility. The demolition will include the building structure, equipment, infrastructure, concrete pads, curbs, and equipment pedestals down to the top of the 6-inch floor slab, which will remain. The complete demolition of the superstructure will also leave a concrete wall, about 2-feet 10-inches high, at the perimeter of the former building.
