The Project is located in Fair Oaks, bounded by Sunset Avenue to the north, New York Avenue to the east, Minnesota Avenue to the west, and Olive Street to the south. The Department of Water Resources initiated the Project due to reports of flooding and a clogged drainage line at 4771 Llano Lane. DWR investigated and found that the existing mainline pipe that runs through the side yard of that property was filled with roots, was broken, and contained a hole. Drainage maintenance staff could not make a permanent repair due to various constraints on the property. They performed a temporary point repair on the existing pipe until this Project could design a better drainage system alternative.
