This Request for Quotations (the "RFQ") is an invitation by the City of Cambridge (the "City"), the City of Waterloo and the Township of Wilmot to prospective respondents to submit non-binding quotations for Fire Hydrant Painting & Restoration, as further described in Section A of the RFQ Particulars (Appendix D) (the "Deliverables"). The City of Cambridge Water Operations division began an initiative to perform restoration and application of industrial paint to fire hydrants City-wide to improve hydrant aesthetics, but also to achieve a uniform colour (i.e. yellow and black only). Restoration of hydrants will help protect against rust from road salt and other elements. The objective of this work is to perform restoration and painting activities for approximately 1,000 City-owned fire hydrants per year, including 40-50 privately-owned fire hydrants per year within the municipal boundary of the City of Cambridge. Work is intended to be completed in 2022, with the possibility of contract extending two additional years, subject to work quality acceptance.
