Saving Project...

Demolition, site work and addition to a civil project in Raleigh, North Carolina. Conceptual plans call for the addition of a water / sewer project; for the demolition of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

As of August 5, 2022, an engineer has been selected and this project is in the design phase. Construction is not expected to start prior to 2025. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Awarded firm shall provide services, all as set forth in this RFQ and more particularly described in this Section 4. The City is soliciting for consultant engineering services to develop a Preliminary Engineering Report (PER). The PER will provide guidance for ways to address conveyance of projected increased wastewater flows from the Wendell and East Raleigh area to the Neuse River Resources Recovery Facility (NRRRF). Options may include the addition of one or more pump stations, additional force main and gravity sewer, and decommissioning or modifying existing pump stations. The Little Creek Resource Recovery Facility, located in Zebulon, NC, has a maximum capacity of 2.1 MGD, with no ability for expansion. Overall growth in the Wendell and eastern portions of Wake County is expected to continue to increase in the coming years, along with projected wastewater flows. The 2019 Amendment to the Wastewater Treatment Master plan recommended the construction of an East Raleigh Regional Pump Station instead of a new RRF, based on cost and permitting requirements. The new pump station would collect wastewater from Raleigh's eastern area and would pump it through a new force main to the NRRRF for treatment. The PER should focus on how prospective additional flows will affect existing pump stations, impacts to NRRRF with respect to increased flows, siting recommendations for any new infrastructure, and overall expected costs. The City of Raleigh is seeking a qualified firm with which to contract for the following services: The City of Raleigh requests qualifications for professional consultant engineering services to develop a Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) for the East Raleigh Wastewater Conveyance study. The PER shall address conveyance of wastewater flows from the Wendell and East Raleigh area to the Neuse River Resources Recovery Facility (NRRRF). Options may include the addition of one or more pump stations, additional force main and gravity sewer, and decommissioning or modifying existing pump stations. A detailed scope of services is provided in Section 4 of this document.
