**As of May 2, 2022, project was awarded to Independence Excavating, awarded amount is $1,199,706.50** The Project includes the following Work: The project generally consists of a new driveway for the Mars Area Middle School from the intersection of Davidson Road and Meredith Drive. The work will include the installation of stormwater management facilities, sidewalks, guide rails, curb islands, pavement markings, fencing, lighting, signage, and the expansion of a gravel parking lot. Work Area No. 1 will consist of all work south of the intersection of Davidson Road and Meredith Drive, and Work Area No. 2 will consist of all work at the intersection of Davidson Road and Meredith Drive. A road detour for Davidson Road will be considered an add alternate. Bidding Documents may be downloaded from the designated website. Prospective Bidders are urged to register with the designated website as a plan holder, even if Bidding Documents are obtained from a plan room or source other than the designated website in either electronic or paper format Work Area No. 1 work can begin on or after May 1, 2022, and Work Area No. 2 work can begin on or after June 1, 2022." Bidders should refer to provisions of federal and state statutes, rules and regulations dealing with the prevention of environmental pollution and preservation of public natural resources that affect the project, pursuant to Act No. 247 of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, approved October 26, 1972. This Project falls under The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania enacted Act 127 of 2012, known as the Public Works Employment Verification Act (the Act)which requires all public work contractors and subcontractors to utilize the Federal Governments E-Verify system to ensure that all employees performing work on public work projects are authorized to work in the United States. All Bidders are required to submit a Public Works Employment Verification Form as a precondition for the Contract Award. The estimated cost for this project is greater than Twenty-five Thousand Dollars ($25,000) and the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act shall apply.
