This Request for Quotation (RFQ) is an open competitive invitation by the Toronto Police Service (TPS) for Bidders to submit Bids for providing the replacement of the existing dock for the Toronto Police Marine Unit Substation located at The Scarborough Bluffs: 7 Brimley Road South, Scarborough, based on work specified under the Scope of Work details provided in this Request for Quotation (RFQ) document. The Marine Unit's Substation 1, located in the Scarborough Bluffs at 7 Brimley Road South, Scarborough, requires a new dock. The existing dock is a steel frame floating pipe/pontoon type, lag bolted to the sea wall. It has a self-leveling system (pipe rails) with a wood deck top. Due to corrosion, the pipe / pontoon portion of the dock is sinking. The Toronto Police Marine Unit needs the existing dock system removed and replaced with new.
The new dock structure needs to be built and installed by no later than fall of 2022, with substantial completion in August, 2022. The Vendor shall provide full contracting services for the dock replacement project. The selected Vendor shall provide a product that is free of defects in material and workmanship. Any defects shall be repaired or replaced with a comparable product free of charge.
If, within two (2) year after the date of final acceptance of the work, as determined by TPS, any of the work is found to be defective or not in accordance with the agreement, the Vendor shall correct it immediately after receipt of written notice by TPS. The TPS shall give such notice promptly after discovery of the condition. Official bid documents must be obtained from www.merx.com and bid submissions must be done through the Merx platform.
