PURPOSE The purpose of this Invitation for Bids (IFB) is to establish a contract through competitive sealed bidding with one qualified contractor to provide quarterly preventative maintenance inspections and repairs for generators at Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC). PVCC is located at 501 College, Drive, Charlottesville, VA 22902. BACKGROUND Virginia's Community Colleges serve an estimated 400,000 people across the state. STATEMENT OF WORK The contractor shall furnish all labor, supervision, equipment, tools, parts, travel, mileage expenses, and materials, as necessary, to provide generator inspection and preventative maintenance services for Piedmont Virginia Community College. A. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: 1. The Contractor shall provide all necessary transportation, labor, tools, equipment, supplies, materials, and incidental items of any kind as may be required to provide generator inspection and preventative maintenance services for the generators listed on Attachment 3. The Service Technicians must be fully equipped with all required hand and light power tools used in the performance of generator maintenance as described in this solicitation. 2. The Contractor's employees shall observe and comply with all College policies, regulations, and procedures at all times. 3. All work shall be performed in accordance with all OSHA, EPA, Federal, State, and local regulations. 4. The Contractor shall obtain all necessary licenses and/or permits required to perform this work. B. REGULAR SERVICE WORKING HOURS: 1. Regular Service Working Hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, except holidays. This time includes and allows for a 30-minute lunch break. Lunch breaks will not be paid. 2. The Contractor shall perform all maintenance work during regular hours and days as identified above, except for the College designated holidays listed below. o New Year's Day o Memorial Day o Juneteenth o Independence Day o Labor Day o Election Day o Thanksgiving Day and the Friday After o Christmas Day o Winter Break (Dates vary depending on the year -between Christmas and New Year's day) o Any days recognized by the Governor of Virginia or President of the United States as an official holiday. a. Services performed on the College designated holidays and outside of normal working hours if approved, will be paid at overtime rates identified in the contract. All work outside of regular hours shall be coordinated and approved in advance by the Facility Supervisor or the Contract Administrator. b. Due to campus demands, it may be necessary on occasion for the Contractor to perform or provide services on weekends and/or holidays outside of regular working hours. All work outside of regular working hours shall be coordinated with and approved in advance by the Facility Supervisor or Contract Administrator.
