Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Iowa City, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

This project includes the reconstruction of N. Gilbert Street from Kimball Road to and including the intersection with Brown Street. Construction will include general site grading, new sanitary sewer and manholes, improved storm water management with expanded storm sewer system including additional street intakes, new water main in select locations, replacement of street pavement with 8" thick PCC pavement, restoration of the brick street at the Brown Street intersection, new PCC pavement driveway connections and approaches, sidewalk improvements both sides of the Gilbert Street including all new ADA curb ramps, and replacement and restoration of select retaining walls. Specified Start Date: April 7, 2025 Substantial Completion Date: August 15, 2025 Final Completion Date: September 15, 2025 Liquidated Damages: $1,200 per day Each proposal shall be completed on a form furnished by the City and must be submitted in a sealed envelope. In addition, a separate sealed envelope shall be submitted containing a completed Bidder Status Form and a bid security executed by a corporation authorized to contract as a surety in the State of Iowa, in the sum of 10% of the bid. All of the bid items listed in Section 0400 - Proposal shall be completed by the Substantial Completion Date except Hydroseeding, Fertilizing, Mulching, including Watering and Warranty, Type 1. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance, Payment, and Maintenance Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price and in the form shown in Section 0510, said bond to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City, and shall guarantee the prompt payment of all materials and labor, and also protect and save harmless the City from all claims and damages of any kind caused directly or indirectly by the operation of the contract, and shall also guarantee the maintenance of the improvement for a period of five years (5) from and after its completion and formal acceptance by the City Council. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, and also reserves the right to waive technicalities and irregularities. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
