The proposed material includes: o Five (5) W36x160 - 50,000 PSI (or heavier) wide flange beams with shear stud connectors. The girder length shall be 80 feet. o Shear stud connectors shall be 7/8" shear studs, 3 1/2 " inches long, spaced 5 inches apart, on the top flange of the girder with a maximum spacing of 12 1/2 inches or approved equal. Shop drawings for the structural steel shall be submitted to the engineer for review and approval. The approval will cover only the general design features, and in no case shall approval be considered to cover errors or omissions in the shop drawings. The supplier shall be, or shall utilize, a fabricator that meets the appropriate American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) certification provisions as stated in Section 1080.3.1.6 of the 2011 Missouri Standard Specifications for Highway Construction for all structural elements. All welding operations, including material and personnel, shall meet the American Welding Society (AWS) specifications. Certified mill test reports, including results of chemical and physical tests, and non-destructive testing reports are required on all structural steel elements. o Two C7x9.8 channels, one welded to each outside girder, shall be included for mounting of guardrail posts, as shown on the attached detail. o C12x25 diaphragms and diaphragm connection plates as shown on the attached detail Material specified shall be delivered on the job site no later than 90 days after the Notice of Award. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids.
