Work under this contract will consist of the following: Furnish all labor, material, tools, equipment, supervision, and incidentals to upgrade the influent gravity sewer entering the wastewater treatment plant. Two existing eighteen inch diameter lines join and currently enter the plant through a twenty-four inch line that connects to a forty-two inch line inside the plant. This contract will connect two eighteen inch lines with a forty-two inch line which will connect to an existing forty-two inch line at the plant headworks. Three new eight foot diameter precast concrete manholes and eighteen and forty-two inch ductile iron pipe will be required to complete the project. All questions concerning the work should be addressed to Bill Shuman, City Engineer at 162 East Cherry Street, Jesup, Georgia 31546, 912-258-5162 (cell). Bids must be accompanied by a certified check or Bid Bond in the amount of five percent of the amount bid. The successful bidder must be able to provide a Payment Bond and Performance Bond in the amount of 100% of the contract price. A statement from the bidder's bonding company shall accompany bid bond stating that the bidder can submit a Payment and Performance Bond, in accordance with the contract documents, within ten days of award of contract. The low bidder must furnish proof that they are a Georgia Department of Transportation Certified Contractor before a contract will be executed. The City of Jesup reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and informalities. The Owner reserves the right to award the Contract in the best interest of the Owner.
