Project Number- 21-0134, 21PR0269, 18.191-E, 19128 Demolish the existing Midlothian Library building and associated site work and will construct a new facility with associated site features. New work will include the construction of a new approximately 26,000 SF library facility. As indicated in the Drawings, the project will demolish the existing Midlothian Library building and associated site work and will construct a new facility with associated site features. The building will be a steel framed structure utilizing steel columns and beams with steel bar joists supporting metal roof deck. Foundations will be continuous concrete spread footings at the non-loadbearing perimeter CMU walls and individual concrete footings at the interior columns. The ground level concrete slab on grade will be 4" thick on vapor retarder on porous fill. The exterior skin of the building will be a cavity wall rainscreen system consisting of aluminum composite panels, phenolic wall panels, and cast stone veneer; foamed-in-place insulation on glass-mat gypsum sheathing on metal studs will be used for the air/vapor barrier. Aluminum storefront windows and entrance systems will be provided for fenestration. Wood glue-laminated members will form brackets at the roof level to support a composite metal roof overhang at selected portions of the exterior wall. The roof membrane will be a fully adhered white PVC sheet on polyisocyanurate insulation sloped to roof drains. A prefinished aluminum fascia will be provided at the roof edge. 2. Interior finishes in the building will include carpet tile, luxury vinyl tile, porcelain floor and wall tile, vinyl base, latex paint, and digital vinyl wallcovering. Ceilings will include acoustical panels, wood panels, perforated metal panels, and painted gypsum board. 3. Plumbing systems for the building will consist of all fixtures, potable hot and cold-water piping and equipment, piping insulation, water heating equipment, sanitary waste and vent piping, storm water removal system and other specialty piping and equipment within 5 feet of the building. 4. Mechanical systems for the building will consist of a rooftop air-cooled chiller serving an air handler unit located in the Mechanical Room. Air will be distributed throughout the building in insulated galvanized metal duct to fan-powered VAV boxes that will regulate each zone. A ductless split system will be used to condition the IT Room. 5. Electrical work for the building will include the following: interior and exterior power distribution, interior and exterior lighting, and a 300 KW diesel generator for standby power, fully interfaced with all mechanical, plumbing, sprinkler, and life safety systems.
