Renovation of a warehouse / distribution facility in New Tecumseth, Ontario. Completed plans call for the renovation of a warehouse / distribution facility.
Located at 5909 7th Line, Beeton, ON L0G 1A0, the salt storage dome building has an approximate diameter of 136 feet and the height of the dome is estimated to be between 60 and 70 feet. The salt storage building is a round dome shaped building constructed with 24 flat roof planes and 24 hips with 15 degrees between each adjacent hip. The roof is cladded with asphalt roof shingles, and there is one entrance canopy above an overhead door facing approximately north-east towards the parking lot. The salt storage building is constructed with sawn lumber rafters spanning in a radial direction parallel to each roof slope. It is supported by circumferential sawn lumber ring beams. The sawn lumber dome shaped roof assembly is supported on a reinforced concrete round grade beam that is also functioning as a retaining wall, allowing the stockpiled salt/sand mixture to be piled against the round concrete grade beam. The entrance canopy roof is framed with prefabricated sawn lumber roof trusses supported on stud walls with a reinforced concrete wing wall on each side of the entrance canopy. award is subject to final approval.
