Project has been awarded to "Highland Contractors" As of May 6, 2022 This project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established. Somerset County is requesting proposals for the construction of a single-story building to be used for the storage of Personal Protective Equipment inventory attached to the current Somerset County Emergency Operations Center (EOC). We are looking for a Design-Building Proposal, built to MUBEC (Maine Uniform Building and Energy Code). Drawings are required with an architect/ engineer stamp. A Bid Bond is required. The Project will be awarded at the next regularly scheduled Commissioner's Meeting being held on May 4, 2022. The Somerset County Commissioners reserve the right to accept or reject any and all bid proposals deemed to be in the best interests of Somerset County. This project is to be done this year with a start this spring/ early summer with occupancy by early fall. Scope of Work to be performed by Contractor A. All necessary ground preparation to prepare site for construction. B. Construction of single-story building (32' X24') attached to the Somerset County EOC C. Put down 2 inches of insulation under the slab; install a 6" (inch) slab with wire and fortifiber D. Frame walls with 2 x 6 construction, 16" apart E. Building will have vinyl siding to match the EOC F. Repair any existing siding issues on the exterior of the EOC G. Building will have colored metal roof to match the EOC and have Advantec plywood for roof sheathing H. Building will heated/cooled with the number of heat pumps sufficient to cover the square footage of the building I. Install new powered overhead 14' x 14' door on driveway side of building J. Configure entrance/exit from the existing EOC with direct access into the new structure K. Concrete floors will be polished and sealed L. Install all new electrical lines to include outlets, LED ceiling lights M. Apply interior 7/16" Zip System exterior sheathing on and plywood sheathing on interior walls and ceiling. Interior sheathing will be covered with FRP panels. N. Insulate the structure with Roxul insulation to meet MUBEC. O. Finish all paving and groundwork necessary to allow complete access to the building including the overhead door. P. Remove all debris, clean the site when the project is done bid was awarded last night to Highland Contractors.
