Site work for a water / sewer project in Newport News, Virginia. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
As of July 9, 2024, per owner, project is delayed. Grant funding was not acquired. Trying to acquire additional funds. The existing drainage channel at the rear of residential properties is experiencing erosion and has deteriorated to a point where it is causing instability of mature trees adjacent to the channel. This channel conducts stormwater runoff from public right-of-way such as Warwick Landing Parkway. The project will include providing a stable and constant cross-section with applicable natural and stone armaments for conducting stormwater runoff from a 10-year storm event. This project is included in the city's 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
