Paving - Sky Meadows State Park All questions as a result of site visit MUST be emailed to mary.cook-jones@dcr.virginia.gov The Department of Conservation and Recreation seeks a qualified licensed contractor to perform asphalt paving, improvements, general maintenance and repairs of approximately 1035sy of asphalt roadway(s) and parking area at Sky Meadows State Park, 11012 Edmonds Lane, Delaplane, VA 20144 Successful bidder shall provide all equipment, materials, labor, tools, and supervision to perform asphalt paving, improvements, general maintenance and repairs within Sky Meadows State Park. The Contractor shall obtain, possess, maintain, and comply with all applicable local, state, federal requirements such as licensing, permits, codes, laws, regulations, standards, specifications, and guidelines for providing asphalt services as identified. Clean and resurface 550sy tar and chip paving on Park Office driveway. Prepare existing surface: Patch potholes and rutted areas with SM-9.5AL surface mix. Complete necessary fine grading and vegetation removal. Overlay with 2 inches of SM 9.5 surface mix. Shoulder work should ensure a smooth transition to grass edge, reseeding/landscaping where vegetation was removed. Roadway should be crowned and graded to improve drainage and runoff issues Sweeping and paving of approximately 485sy of Park office parking area. Sweep and removal of debris from existing surface. Removal of vegetation around edges where necessary. Leave 4’ landscape buffer between paved surface and existing stone wall on East side. Ensure utility access points remain in place. Install 1” of VA#21A base stone. Install 2” of SM-9.5AL surface mix. Area should be graded to improve drainage and runoff issues. Edge work should ensure a smooth transition to grass edge, reseeding/landscaping where vegetation was removed. Contractor shall sweep work areas to remove all loose debris. Contractor shall cleanup daily with refuse removed from the site and, at the completion of work, all Asphalt Paving and Related Services construction equipment, materials and debris removed
