Major items include: The City's lime softening water treatment process results in a residual lime material which is suitable for reuse as an agricultural liming product. The residual lime material is temporarily stored in lagoons. The contract work includes removal of the residual lime from Lagoon #4 beginning July 1st 2022; Lagoon #3 beginning July 1st 2023; Lagoon #2 and the Backwash Pond beginning July 1st, 2024; Lagoon #1 beginning July 1st 2025; provided by arranging for and carrying out the reuse or disposal of this material in accordance with the contract specifications including all applicable Michigan Department of Environmental Quality regulations and requirements.The contract work includes removal of the residual lime from Lagoon #4 beginning July 1st 2022; Lagoon #3 beginning July 1st 2023; Lagoon #2 and the Backwash Pond beginning July 1st, 2024; Lagoon #1 beginning July 1st 2025; provided by arranging for and carrying out the reuse or disposal of this material in accordance with the contract specifications including all applicable Michigan Department of Environmental Quality regulations and requirements. The work is to be bid and paid for on a cubic yard basis for the lime residual as removed from the water plant site. The estimated quantity is 29,300 cubic yards.
