The Town of Ware is seeking bids for the "Ware Mass Central Rail Trail Phase II" project. This phase of the project is to install a stone dust surface on the trail to complete the portion of the Mass Central Rail Trail between Longview Avenue and Mountain View Drive. This work will include approximately .75 miles of the MCRT trail, involve grading for drainage, and grading near two bridge crossings for ADA accessibility. More detail will be provided in the scope of services packet. This phase of the project will take place along two portions of the MCRT between Longview Avenue and Malboeuf Road, and the second which between Malboeuf Road and Mountain View Drive (shown on Item #1). This work will include approximately .8 miles of the MCRT trail, which is currently under use and open to the public. The Town is looking for the following items to be completed with this work: 1. Regrade the portion of trail East of Longview Ave. to create a drainage swale along the north side of the trail. 1 1/2 " crushed gravel material should be used to raise the grade of the trail sufficiently enough to allow positive water flow to the swale. 2. The section of trail halfway between Longview Ave and Malboeuf Rd. should be graded to eliminate the low area holding water in the trail. Drainage swale along the side of the trail is to be created to allow for proper drainage of the trail surface. 3. Lower the manhole cover to the east side of the foot bridge on the east side of Malboeuf Rd. to lessen the steep grade of the trail between the manhole cover and the bridge. This is to make the trail more ADA accessible. 4. Raise the grade of the trail on the west side of Mountain View Dr. to create less of a grade and a more level approach to the road. 2.
