This contract is for the lawn care (mowing, trimming/edging) services of city owned property, ROW, and Strom Water facilities within the City of Sun Prairie. The specifications contained herein detail how lawn care services shall maintain public turf areas in an appropriated, aesthetic and safe manner. Bidders are not required to bid on all three areas to be eligible for the contract. Bidders may bid on one, two, or all three of the areas. Bidders are required to submit a bid for each of the three years for the areas they are bidding on. The term of the contract shall be for a (3) year period to commence on April 1 2022, and ending on December 31 2024. The city will pay the contractor eight equal payments for the mowing season starting in April and ending in November every year. This monthly payment would be the total bid for one mowing season divided by 8 to determine the monthly payments during the mowing season. The price for an option year shall be based upon the percent change in the CPI-U from the preceding year applied to the current contract year price to obtain the option year price. No bid shall be considered unless accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or bid bond equal to 10% of the bid amount payable to the City of Sun Prairie as a guarantee that if their bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file a Contract within ten (10) days after such acceptance. The accepted bidder will execute and file the Agreement and the Performance and Payment Bonds in the amount equal to 100% of the bid amount within ten (10) days of Notice of Award. All applicable charter and statutory provisions are incorporated into said Contract. The successful bidder shall be required to conform to all Federal and State OSHA requirements, as well as to the extent necessary, to comply with David-Bacon and/or Wisconsin Prevailing Wage Laws. Bids may be held by the City of Sun Prairie for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of the bidders, prior to awarding of the Contract. The City of Sun Prairie reserves the right to discontinue the contract's remaining option year and may elect to re- advertise the contract in whole or in part when changes in prices are not mutually acceptable between the contractor and the City. The City of Sun Prairie reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding process.
