The lowest responsive bidder must have completed, or successfully complete, a highway prequalification or project-specific prequalification to be considered for the award of this contract. MaineDOT accepts electronic bids for bid packages posted. Electronic bids do not have to be accompanied by paper bids. MaineDOT will accept a facsimile of the bid bond, but the original bid bond must be received at the MaineDOT Contracts Section within 72 hours of the bid opening. Until further notice, dual bids (one paper, one electronic) will be accepted, with the paper copy taking precedence. Description: Maine Federal Aid Project No. 2431500 WIN: 024315.00 Location: In Hancock County, the project is located on state Route 172 (South Street). Outline of Work: Sidewalks and bicycle lane for 0.36 mile, from Tradewinds Market to the Bay School. For Project-specific information, fax all questions to Project Manager at (207) 624-3431 using the electronic RFI form, or email questions to RFI-Contracts. MDOT@maine.gov, with the project name and identification number in the subject line. Questions received after 12:00 noon of the Monday (or if that Monday is a state holiday, Friday) before the bid date will not be answered. Bidders shall not contact any other MaineDOT staff for clarification of Contract provisions, and the MaineDOT will not be responsible for any interpretations so obtained. Each Bid must be made upon blank forms provided by MaineDOT and must be accompanied by a bid bond of 5% of the bid amount or an official bank check, cashier's check, certified check, certificate of deposit, or United States postal moncy order for 5% of the bid amount, payable to "Treasurer, State of Maine" as a Bid guarantee. A Contract Performance Surety Bond and a Contract Payment Surety Bond, each for 100% of the Contract price, will be required of the successful Bidder. This Contract is subject to all applicable Federal laws, as well as Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program requirements set forth by the Maine Department of Transportation. This Contract is subject to all applicable Federal Laws. This contract is subject to compliance with the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise program requirements as set forth by the Maine Department of Transportation.
