Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Detroit, Michigan. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; road / highway; road / highway; and water / sewer project.

Reference Number 0000414346 The Project may include the following Work as issued by DWSD on an as-needed basis: A. The work shall consist of removal and placement of pavement cuts, high strength no cut concrete base, asphalt, sidewalks, driveways, ADA ramps and linear curb. The work also includes the repair of manhole covers, gate boxes and tree stump removals the city of Detroit. All furnishings of all labor, equipment and tools and performing all operations necessary to construct and complete concrete pavement and the appurtenances in strict accordance with these specifications, drawings and subject to terms and conditions of the project. B. The repair locations will be assigned by the Engineer and the Engineer and the general order in which they shall be repaired will also be determined by the Engineer. The repair locations will be in the City. The contractor shall accept all locations and all type of the repair work encountered and perform all such work at no change in the Unit Prices. C. The Bidder understands and agrees that the work may or may not be in the proportions or quantities of the various items of work as indicated on the Bid Schedule. D. The Bidder herby agrees to perform all work assigned by the engineer no matter where located and regardless of the type of repair encountered, and no matter how the total amount of work of the contract is changed, at the unit price items and that no claim for additional compensate will be made. E. The Bidder agrees that any incidental work required to perform complete work, not specifically mentioned in the proposal items, shall be considered as incidental to the Unit Price Items and that no claim for additional compensation will be made. F. The Contractor shall be expected to provide sufficient staff and crews to complete all as needed tasks on a timely basis as assigned by DWSD at the unit prices established in the bidding documents. G. The Contractor's mobilization from one work site to another will be consideration whereby the distance between work sites will be kept to a minimum distance , if possible, as determined by the Engineer. Sparsely located repair cuts are part of this contract and major shifts in the work area will be required where found necessary by the Engineer. H. The thickness of the replacement of the street pavement cuts of trenches is to be in accordance with the Drawings attach, unless otherwise specifically directed by the Engineer. The sidewalks are to have a minimum thickness of 4-inches and the driveways a minimum thickness of 6-inches or 8 inches, whichever is required in the ordinance I. The work in Wayne County and/or Michigan State Highway Routes shall be in accordance with the requirements and specifications of the Wayne County Department of Public Services and/or the Michigan Department of Transportation, respectively. Contractor's bid shall cover all roadway, sidewalk and driveway restoration requirements by MDOT, Wayne County Roads and CED including required tests. All cost derived from jurisdictional authority requirements shall be incurred by the contractor at no extra cost to DWSD. Detail requirements of these agencies are found in Article 18 of the General Specifications. MDOT requires that all permits needed to perform work in MDOT's right-of-way be obtained through DWSD. Therefore, the Contractor shall remain solely responsible for the fulfillment of all MDOT's permit requirement for this contract. MDOT's requirement for DWSD to obtain MDOT's right of way permit shall not relieve the Contractor including but not limited to permit fees and obtaining MDOT's specifications. J. It will be the responsibility of the contractor to make arrangements for the disposal of broken concrete and waste materials, cost for which shall be included in the Unit Price Schedules of the Proposal. Disposal of all materials will be in accordance with applicable Federal, State and Local Laws. K. The unit prices required by the bid schedule shall include the costs of bonds, insurance and mobilization. The bonds and insurance shall not exceed the Bidder's total direct cost for the required bonds and insurance furnished under the proposed contact. L. No concrete is to be placed prior to the third week of April or after the second week of November unless specified by the Engineer. The time during the winter shutdown will be considered contract time. M. A line of communication must be maintained by the Contractor with the Engineer on a 24 hour a day, 7-day a week. During office hours, a telephone answering service is suggested.
