The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) - District Five (Department), seeks a qualified, experienced, and licensed contractor to perform (1) new pavement construction and striping of 2,240 Sq. Ft. of asphalt, (2) milling, paving, and restriping of approximately 20,100 Sq. Ft. of asphalt including regrading of up to 3,800 Sq. Ft., and (3) removal of approximately 315 Sq. Ft. of asphalt and concrete at the FDOT Ocala Operations Complex (Facility). Add alternate: milling, paving, and restriping approximately (a) 43,560 Sq. Ft. in Central section and (b) 62,200 Sq. Ft in South section. A. Asphalt Pavement Construction & Striping - New Parking Lot North of Administrative Building: {Approximately 2,240 Sq. Ft. @ 1.5 inch depth} A.1. Excavate native material and compact sub grade in preparation for new construction. A.2. Install base, roll and compact, and meet L.B.R./compaction requirements. (i.e., 6.5" crushed base course material compacted to 98% of max density with a 3-5 ton roller) A.3. Tack new crushed base course material, as needed, using SS-1h primer coat. A.4. Install 1.5" average Type SP 9.5 hot mix asphalt. A.5. Roll and compact with a 3-5 ton roller. A.6. Remove and haul away any related debris from site. A.7. Clear away loose dirt and debris. Layout and paint new pavement markings per existing using DOT approved latex traffic paints to include: 4" LF, stall lines and handicap stalls. B. Asphalt Mill, Pave, and Restriping of Existing Asphalt - North & West Sections: {Approximately 20,100 Sq. Ft. @ 1.25 inch depth} B.1. Mobilize equipment to the job site. B.2. Regrade approximately 3,800 Sq. Ft. (North-West Drive) as needed. B.3. Mill existing asphalt surfaces to a depth of 1.25". Continue milling if hit lime rock to help maintain level area. B.4. Clean entire milled surface with power street brooms. B.5. Apply SS-1h tack coat to prepared surface areas. B.6. Install 1.25" average overlay with Type SP 9.5 hot mix asphalt surface mix. B.7. Roll and compact using a 4-6 ton steel drum roller and a rubber tire traffic roller. B.8. Inaccessible areas will be mechanically or hand compacted. B.9. Remove and haul away any remaining debris from site. B.10. Parking Lot Striping: Clear away loose dirt and debris. Layout and paint new pavement markings per existing using DOT approved latex traffic paints to include: 4" LF, stall lines and handicap stalls. C.
