The standard Form of "Bid Bond", Document No. A-310 issued by the American Institute of Architects may be used at the Bidder's option in lieu of cashier's check or a certified check. Under any option the amount of the bond, or check, remains the same, 5% of the Base Bid Sum without regard to any alternates. The original document should be mailed to 102 S. A copy of the Bid Bond or cashier's check shall be submitted with your electronic bid submittal, or your bid will be deemed non-responsive. Performance Bond may be required for contracts and/or awards of contracts in excess of $100,000.00 for the amount of 100% of the contract price to cover faithful performance of the Contract. Simultaneously with their delivery of the executed contract, the Award Bidder must deliver to HCPS an executed bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the accepted bid as security for the faithful performance of their contract and for the payment of all persons performing labor or furnishing materials in connection therewith, prepared on the Standard Bond Form A-311 as approved and issued by the American Institute of Architects and having as surety thereon such surety company or companies as are acceptable on bonds given to the United States Government and approved by the Harford County Public Schools and are authorized to transact business in this State. Performance Bonds shall be made out in the name of the "Board of Education of Harford County". Payment Bonds may be required for contracts and/or awards of construction contracts in excess of $100,000.00 for the amount of 100% of the contract price as security for the payment of all persons performing labor and furnishing materials in connection therewith when required by HCPS.
