2022 Public Address System Upgrades Project Project consists of roof system replacement. Bids will be received for the following Work: 1. Public Announcement/Intercom Upgrades. Berwyn North District #98 will receive bids for PA System Upgrades Project at Havlicek Elementary School located at 6401 West 15th Street, Berwyn, Illinois 60402, Jefferson Elementary School located at 7035West 16th Street, Berwyn, Illinois 60402, Lincoln Middle School located at 6432 West 16th Street, Berwyn, 60402, and Prairie Oak Elementary School located at 1427 South Oak Park, Berwyn, Illinois 60402 according to Bidding Documents Qualified bidders may submit bids for project as described in this Document. Submit bids according to the Instructions to Bidders. 1. Regulatory Requirements: AIA Document A701, "Instructions to Bidders "2018 Edition shall govern submittal, opening, and award of bids. B. Project Identification: 2022 PA Upgrades. 1. Project Locations: a. Havlicek Elementary School - 6401 West 15th Street, Berwyn, Illinois 60402 b. Jefferson Elementary School - 7035West 16th Street, Berwyn, Illinois 60402 c. Lincoln Middle School - 6432 West 16th Street, Berwyn, Illinois 60402 d. Prairie Oak Elementary School - 1427 South Oak Park Avenue, Berwyn, IL 60402 C. Owner: Berwyn North District #98. 1. Owner's Representative: Ms. Regina Johnson D. Architect: FGM Architects, Inc., 1211 West 22nd Street, Suite 700, Oak Brook, Illinois 60523. After the bids have tabulated and studied, they will be presented to the School Board at its next regular meeting (April 24, 2022). If only one bid is received on the day of the bid opening, this bid will be opened but instead will be presented to the School Board at its next regular meeting for consideration. Bid security shall be submitted with each bid in the amount of five (5) percent of the bid amount. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after opening of bids. Security shall be either certified check, cashier's check or bid Bond issued by surety licensed to conduct business in the State of Illinois. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities. Successful bidder shall begin the Work on receipt of the Notice to Proceed and shall complete the Work within the Contract Time. 1. Contract Time: a. Construction Tentative Start Time: No sooner than June 6, 2022. b. Substantial Completion: August 5, 2022. c. Final Completion: August 12, 2022. A. Within ten (10) days after notification of award of contract, the successful Contractor shall furnish a Performance Bond, separate Labor and Material Payment Bond, and Insurance in a form acceptable to Owner. The Performance Bond shall be in the amount of 100 percent of the contract. The performance bond will become a part of the contract. B. The failure of the successful bidder to enter into contract and supply the required bond and Certificates of Insurance within ten (10) days after the prescribed forms are presented for signature, or within such extended period as the Owner may grant, shall constitute a default. C. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities and irregularities in any bid, or to make awards in the best interests of the Owner. The Owner also reserves the right to award a partial amount of the Work rather than the entire amount. D. All bids submitted shall be valid for a period of at least sixty days from date of bid opening; the only alterations which will be allowed will be those approved by the Owner. E. All contractors submitting bids must be in compliance with the Prevailing Wage Act as enacted by the State of Illinois.
