The United Counties of Prescott and Russell are seeking a Successful Bidder to perform the rehabilitation of Bélanger Bridge (Structure 08-308) as specified in this Bid document. This Bid request involves, but is not necessarily limited to, the following: - Mobilize to site - Close road to traffic and set up detour route - Install construction enclosures, environmental protection, and erosion / sediment control measures - Remove steel beam guide rail on approaches, including end treatments - Remove asphalt and waterproofing on bridge deck - Remove asphalt at approaches (full depth) - Remove concrete barrier and single steel pipe railing along bridge deck and wingwalls - Remove concrete overhang along bridge deck - Partial depth concrete removals (Type A) and repairs at top of bridge deck - Partial depth concrete removals (Type B) and repairs at deck soffit - Partial depth concrete removals (Type B) and repairs at concrete diaphragms - Remove expansion joint assemblies at abutments & Pier #3, including end sections of deck (full depth) and ballast walls at abutments - Install stiffeners for jacking at steel girders - Design and install temporary supports and jack bridge deck at abutments and Pier #3 - Partial depth concrete removals (Type C) and repairs at abutments (wingwalls & abutment walls) - Partial depth concrete removals (Type C) and repairs at pier caps and shafts - Partial depth concrete removals (Type B) and repairs at prestressed girder ends (abutments & Pier #3) - Clean structural steel and perform structural steel repairs at ends of steel girders (girders, diaphragms, bracings, stiffeners, etc.) - Apply protective coating to cleaned steel surfaces. - Remove and replace bearings and bearing assemblies at abutments (steel and concrete girders) - Remove and replace bearings and bearing assemblies Pier #3 (steel girder only) - Lower bridge deck and remove temporary supports - Reconstruct ballast walls, including seat for new approach slab - Install new expansion joints at abutments and Pier #3, including concrete blockouts - Reconstruct concrete deck overhangs, including new deck drains - Reconstruct upper section of concrete wingwalls - Construct new concrete parapet wall and steel pipe railing on bridge deck and wingwalls - Backfill wingwalls and ballast walls - Construct new approach slabs - Apply new hot-rubberized waterproofing membrane and protection board on bridge deck and approach slabs - Pave bridge deck and approaches - Install new steel beam guide rail at approaches, including structure connections and energy attenuating terminals - Restore site to existing conditions Remove construction enclosures and environmental / erosion & sediment control measures - Remove traffic detour and reopen bridge to public traffic - Demobilize Documents can be obtained at: https://prescott-russell.bidsandtenders.ca
