**As of June 22, 2022, this project has been awarded to Browns Enterprises LLC and the awarded amount is $862,700.75** Isle of Wight County is seeking competitive bids to upgrade an existing Refuse and Recycling Center located at the intersection of Old Stage Highway and Route 10 in Isle of Wight County. Site improvements consist of, but are not limited to; existing pavement and fence demolition, re-grading, new concrete and asphalt pavement installation, signage, striping, new fencing, landscaping, a stormwater management facility, and site lighting. The project includes provisions for temporary erosion and sediment control features including, but not limited to; silt fence, tree protection, and temporary & permanent seeding. Contractor shall provide a warranty on all work for a period of one (1) year after final payment Questions concerning this project must be in writing(email preferred) and addressed to mwhite@isleofwightus.net and must be received no later than 5:00 p.m., March 25, 2022. If said work is not completed within the time stated in the Notice to Proceed (the County anticipates all work will be completed in 120 days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed), the Contractor shall be liable and hereby agrees to pay to the Owner as liquidated damages, and not as a penalty, the amount of five hundred dollars ($500.00) per calendar day for each and every part of a day thereafter that said work remains substantially incomplete for a location. The County reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to deduct liquidated damages from any outstanding amount due the Contractor The County reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to waive any informality if it is determined to be in the best interest of the County.
