Renovation of an educational facility in Afton, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 14,500-square-foot, one-story above grade educational facility.

The project consists of adding an entry door and secure access entry to a waiting room at Rockfish Elementary School. This work shall include new doors and door hardware with electric locks. All security features shall be coordinated with the Nelson County Security Control Contractor. Bids may be withdrawn in accordance with the Code of Virginia 2.2-4330(a) Procedure (1). Bids shall be accompanied by a certified check, cash or an acceptable bid bond in the amount of five (5) percent of the base bid, made payable to the Nelson County School Board. Awarded bidder is required to provide these bonds in the amount of one hundred (100%) Percent of awarded contract amount. Cost for these bonds is to be included in the bid amount. The contract will be awarded on a lump sum base bid to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. The Nelson County School Board reserves the right to award the contract in whole or in part. The existing building will be occupied by summer students and staff during this work. All work shall be coordinated in advance with the school representative. 3. The buildings shall be secured at the end of each days work through-out the project. 4. New doors and hardware shall match the existing adjacent doors and hardware in style and finish. (no exceptions) 5. New exterior benches with steel pipe bollard traffic control. 6. All new security controls, panels shall be provided and installed by the separate contract with the owner's security contractor. 7. No underground site utility work is required. 8. All disturbance of yards and the surrounding site are to be restored to present condition
