Proposed Parking Lot Improvements - Phases 6 & 7- Henry County Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital - Mount Pleasant, Iowa - 2022 Two alternate bids will be considered. Alternate 1 shall be for the replacement of approximately 930 S.Y. of pavement in the north parking lot. Alternate 2 shall include the work in Alternate 1 and an additional 993 square yards of pavement in the north parking lot. The Contract shall be awarded to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder for Alternate 1 or Alternate 2. The Owner reserves the right to select which alternate they award the contract to after the bids have been considered and reviewed. The lowest price alternate may or may not be awarded the contract. ALTERNATE 1: The project consists of the following items and approximate quantities: 830 S.Y. of pavement removal; 155 C.Y. of excavation; 155 C.Y. of modified subbase; 930 S.Y. of pavement, 6" Class C, PCC, reinforced; 380 L.F. of 4" longitudinal subdrain; and miscellaneous appurtenant work usually associated with a parking lot replacement improvement project. ALTERNATE 2: The project consists of the following items and approximate quantities: 1,763 S.Y. of pavement removal; 437 C.Y. of excavation; 321 C.Y. of modified subbase; 1,923 S.Y. of pavement, 6" Class C, PCC, reinforced; 740 L.F. of 4" longitudinal subdrain; and miscellaneous appurtenant work usually associated with a parking lot replacement improvement project. The bids will be considered by the Board of Trustees during their meeting beginning at 7:30 P.M. on April 20, 2022. The work under the proposed Contract shall commence upon issuance of the written Notice to Proceed. The proposed parking lot replacement improvements listed shall be fully completed on or before October 31, 2022. The Bidder agrees to pay as liquidated damages the sum of $500 for each consecutive calendar day after the specified completion date that the project is not fully completed. Each bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security as defined in Section 26.8 of the Code of Iowa. Bid security shall be 10% of the bid amount.
