The Department of Public Safety invites experienced design firms to submit qualifications to provide design, and construction administration services for the construction of a shoot house range system at Samarcand Training Academy in Jackson Springs, NC. Project consists of installation of a new 4,800 SF shoot house within a firearms range complex. The shoot house includes developing performance-based plans and specifications for a deferred design system to meet customer program needs. Target and observation systems will be included in the design. The designer is responsible for review and approval of all drawings and submittals prior to installation. The shoot house requires an 80 SF control room that may be attached to either the shoot house or the adjacent range control building. Designer to assist with this determination. Site adaptation design will not be deferred to contractor unless required and includes grading, sidewalks (ADA), foundations/slabs and private utility connections. A sewer septic system is not included with the initial design scope, but the ability to add these services is a requirement. State Construction Office submittals are required for all design phases (Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Documents) which include: plans, cost estimate, and technical specifications edited with Masterworks in Masterspec 2006. These services also include closeout as defined by the State Construction Manual with record drawings in both AutoCAD (latest version) and Revit.
