The Regional District of Central Kootenay (RDCK) and Kalesnikoff are collaborating on the Selous Creek fuel management project that is designed to reduce the risk of wildfire adjacent to the City of Nelson and the Selous Creek water intake. The main objectives of the project are to reduce wildfire risk by retaining large, healthy fire-resistant trees, while removing dense understory trees and surface fuels, as well as enhancing infrastructure protection for potential future suppression efforts. In addition to 65 ha of mechanical treatments the project includes 13 ha of manual treatments. These include 5.5 ha of trail buffer of 7.5 ha of cable retention areas. This Request for Quote is for the 7.5ha of cable retention areas only. The RDCK is seeking Quotes for a Contract to supply the Services herein described on or before October 31, 2022.
