DeFries Ditch #711 (Newton County) The specifications and report are on file and available in the Office of the Jasper County Surveyor located at 2530 North McKinley Avenue, Suite 2, Rensselaer, Indiana. The nature of the work to be performed and material furnished for this Maintenance repair project are: Chemically treating, with approved ditch bank application, the brush and weeds on selected and designated portions of the following Ditches: Each bidder must bid a total combined bid for all ditches. The successful bidder will be the best-qualified bidder who bids the lowest total combined bid for all the ditches. HOWEVER, EACH BIDDER MUST SUBMIT WITHIN HIS TOTAL BID, A SEPARATE BID FOR "EACH DITCH", SO THAT COST ASSESSMENTS FOR E A C H D I T C H C A N B E CHARGED TO THE APPROPRIATE DITCH ACCOUNT. All bidders should view the ditches prior to bidding. All bidders must provide a signed copy of the attached "Maintenance Specifications" and a copy of their valid Indiana Applicators License. Bidders shall deposit a certified check payable to the Jasper County Drainage Board equal to five percent (5%) of the bid, or a bid bond payable to the Jasper County Drainage Board with sufficient sureties conditioned upon the bidder executing a contract in accordance with his bid if successful and providing for forfeiture of five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid upon failure to do so. Bids shall be accompanied by a non-collusion affidavit, and shall be on forms approved by the State Board of Accounts. Upon execution of the contract, the successful bidder shall give a bond in the amount of the bid, payable to said Board, and conditioned upon the faithful performance of the contract and the payment of all expenses and damages incurred under the contract, including payment of all sub-contractors, laborers, and suppliers. Within five (5) days after the acceptance of a bid, the successful bidder shall enter into a contract with the Jasper County Drainage Board in accordance with the Indiana Drainage Code, as amended. The Jasper County Drainage Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
