Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a municipal facility in Wilmington, Delaware. Completed plans call for the addition of a municipal facility; for the demolition of a municipal facility; for the renovation of a municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.
State of Delaware, Office of Management and Budget, Division of Facilities Management, is seeking to engage the services of a Construction Management (CM) firm for the Custom House Renovation and Addition. The selected CM will provide the following services: preconstruction services as required, to include but not be limited to, cost estimating, bid package development and bid solicitations, and construction services as required, to include but not be limited to, managing the bidding packages, coordinating contractor work, phasing the project, and overseeing construction. No other information will be made available concerning this project, and site visits will not be available until after a selection is made. Questions regarding this solicitation must be submitted in writing to dfm_ask@state.de.us by Monday, March 28, 2022. Responses will be posted by Tuesday, April 5, 2022 The Division of Facilities Management reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals and waive any requirements of this RFQ *Additional plans for this project are available through the owner. Please contact the owner for more details on how to obtain a set.* The Custom House is located at 516 N. King Street, Wilmington, DE. It was constructed in 1855, and it is the second oldest building in Wilmington. It was the first federal building, post office, and U.S. Courthouse in Delaware. The Custom House is on the National Register of Historic Places. The Custom House is approximately 15,000 sf and next door to the Leonard L. Williams Justice Center (LLWJC). This project involves the renovation of the Custom House as well as constructing an addition of approximately 45,000 sf and site improvements. This enhanced structure will provide additional needed space for the functions of the LLWJC. The site has already been certified in the DNREC Brownfields Program, and a consultant is currently performing a Brownfields Investigation. Simultaneous to this selection process, an architectural/engineering team has begun working on the PreDesign Phase of the project to include, amongst other tasks, space planning and programming, coordination of project requirements with the City of Wilmington, DelDOT, and DNREC, geotechnical investigation, coordination with environmental requirements, digital scanning of the existing building, and documentation of historic features and requirements.
