As of June 7, 2022 This project is awarded to Red Sky Asphalt Services, Inc. with awarded amount of $62,900.00. Project is now under construction. Contractor shall furnish equipment, material, and labor to apply seal coat to existing asphalt paving at City Hall. Including repainting all strips for ADA stalls and parking stalls. The North lot is approximately 26,160 square feet and contains 33 parking stalls. The East lot is approximately 30,620 square feet and contains 66 parking stalls. Hose bib water supply will be available to the Contractor. Contractor is responsible for a Water Pollution Control plan. Contractor shall provide all necessary traffic control, cones, and barricades to complete the project. The Contractor shall apply one coat of water-based, black asphalt emulsion coating with a minimum of 2 percent polymer, Steel guard 60 by Raynguard, , or approved equal. Surfaces to receive seal coat shall be swept, flushed or compressed air blown clean of all dust, dirt and foreign matter prior to application. Scrub oily and greasy areas with strong detergent and flush with water. Surfaces to be coated may be damp, but free of standing water at the time of application. Surfaces shall be free of existing pavement markers. All cracks 1/4 inch or wider shall be cleaned and filled with a hot rubberized crack sealant prior to application of the asphalt emulsion. Application of the seal coat shall be performed by mechanical means using rubber faced squeegees, brooms, distributor bars, any combination of these methods, or other techniques approved by the city. The "Payment Bond" (Material and Labor Bond) shall be for not less than 100 percent of the contract price, to satisfy claims of material suppliers and of mechanics and laborers employed by it on the work. The "Performance Bond" shall be for 100 percent of the contract price to guarantee faithful performance of all work, within the time prescribed, in a manner satisfactory to the Agency, and that all materials and workmanship will be free from original or developed defects The amount of the "Maintenance Bond" shall be for 50 percent of the final contract price. The Maintenance Bond shall be submitted on the form contained in these specifications or on a form which conforms to it prior to release of final payment for the work. The Payment, Performance and Maintenance Bonds shall be submitted on the appropriate form contained in this solicitation. AWARD OF CONTRACT The award of this Contract, if it is awarded, will be made on the basis of availability of budgeted funds and to the Contractor with the lowest responsive price for the base bid. PAYMENT Payment will be issued to the successful Contractor upon City-approved completion of the project and receipt of invoice as provided by the vendor in accordance with the total lump sum quoted. If a bidder should, after being awarded the contract, fails to execute the contract and furnish the necessary bonds, certifications, and insurance in the manner and within the time provided in these specifications, the bid security shall be forfeited to the City as liquidated damages, and the award of the contract shall be annulled. The City reserves the right to reject any or all Bids and to waive minor irregularities.
