Renovation of a mixed-use development in Stony Brook, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; educational facility; and medical facility.

The project scope is to transfer the loads on emergency generators nos. 1, 2, 3, and 4 to emergency generators nos. 5 and 6. The emergency generators are located in the East Campus Power Plant and support Stony Brook University Hospital (SBUH), Health Sciences Center and Ambulatory Surgery Center. The main features of the work shall include, but not be limited to the following: Project Construction is to be phased Contract mobilization, Survey, and Project closeout. Procurement and installation of new substation, automatic transfer switch (ATS) in switchgear room A. Procurement and installation of reconditioned 13.8 kV System circuit breakers that have been tested and re-certified in switchgear room A. Procurement and installation of new 15 kV switchgear sections with draw out circuit breakers in switchgear room B. Procurement and installation of temporary generator, transformer, conductors, all terminations, and testing. Procurement and installation of PLC Hardware and genus communication, relays, instrumentations, switches, annunciators, BacNet/Modbus gateway and for existing generator distribution switchgear with two additional section and generator control cubicles. Procurement and installation energy management control panel and associated items. Removal of existing motor control center (MCC), automatic transfer switch (ATS), unit substations in switchgear room A. Removal of existing generator distribution sections and ATS's, conductors and associated items in generator room A. Removal of existing generators sets, attenuators, stacks, remote radiators, fuel oil day tanks, piping, supports and associated equipment. Removal of existing equipment and housekeeping pads and equipment framing. Providing new equipment and housekeeping pads, closing roof opening, wall repairs, floor repairs and fire stopping. Modify the existing lightning protection system and in accordance with the Contract Documents. Provide conduits, pull boxes, supports Provide conductors from 15 kV breakers in switchgear room A to new 15 kV switchgear located in switchgear room B. Provide communication wiring, generator start wiring and any other low voltage wiring. All terminations, testing and commissioning of new switchgear, ATS's, 15 kV breakers, energy management system, temporary generator and existing generators 5 and 6. System functional testing for substantial completion. RFI's will be accepted from interested bidders beginning March 22, 2022 through April 7, 2022 at 4:00 PM. Questions received after April 7, 2022 will not be answered. RFI answers to be provided to all interested bidders in attendance at the site visit and uploaded to this advertisement by April 13, 2022 or as soon thereafter as possible. This is a Prevailing Wage Project - Schedule PRC# 2022002717 Bidders must submit a Schedule of Values and a Time and Performance Duration Schedule with their IFB response. Contractor must provide a list of Sub-contractors for approval with the bid submission. The Sub-contractor(s) qualifications must meet or exceed those of the bidding contractor The bidder must demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the University, that they have successfully completed three (3) contracts similar in size, scope and complexity to this contract within the last five (5) years. References should include profiles of similar projects completed by the key staff who will be assigned to this project. Include brief descriptions of the projects including location, project size and scope, original budget - estimated and completed for the project as well as the scheduled and actual project completion dates. Required Minimum Qualifications - 5 years of recent, Central Power Plant and 15kV systems experience showing and demonstrating the Contractors and Sub-contractor's ability and knowledge in the removal and installation of Hospital Emergency Generators while maintaining emergency power to the Facility. Stony Brook Medicine is committed to follow the Hospital's Leadership mandates to implement sustainable and/energy conserving products /building material that would be required to achieve a minimum of LEED Silver status. LEED certification may or may not be applied, but the required documentation should be appropriately available upon the request of Stony Brook Medicine. Therefore, procured products shall meet the established sustainable standards consistent to their restrictive industries. Such as Green guard, Floor Score for flooring products, BIFMA for Business and Institutional furniture, CertiPUR-US for products containing foam materials, etc. All vendor estimates, proposals, quotes, must be accompanies with the appropriate reference to the respective certifying agency.
