Renovation of a municipal facility in Bangor, Maine. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
The City of Bangor requests bids from qualified firms for the boiler replacement and installation of radiant tubing in a new concrete floor of the Fleet Maintenance Facility, 481 Maine Avenue, Bangor, Maine. A tabulation of all bids received will be available after 4:00 PM on the date of opening. Any questions must be directed in writing to bids@bangormaine.gov no later than 4:30 PM, Thursday, April 7, 2022. It is the responsibility of the Bidder(s) to see that their bids have sufficient time to be received by the Purchasing Department before the submittal deadline. Any bid, portion of a bid, or unrequested bid revision received at the City of Bangor Purchasing Department after the time and date specified, will be returned to the Bidder unopened. The City of Bangor reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any informalities or defects in bids or to accept a higher cost bid if it is deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Bangor. The City also reserves the right to negotiate with the successful Bidder 1. Work will include installation of radiant tubing in the new concrete shop floor. 2. Work will include replacing the existing boiler with a larger more efficient boiler suitable for the addition of radiant floor heating. 3. The radiant floor tubing will be installed in two phases separated by the masonry wall in the middle of the shop. A. Phase 1 would be the Left Bay (closer to the main office) which is approximately 6,500 sq./ft. B. Phase 2 would be the Right Bay (closer to the parts room) which is approximately 5,700 sq./ft. 4. The boiler will be a 450,000 BTU Boiler at minimum and operate on Propane. 5. The boiler should have a minimum of a 6 zone manifold to handle the existing zones and additional zones for the radiant floor heat. 6. Successful Bidder will need to coordinate and work with the concrete contractor to map out and install the radiant floor tubing.
