Demolition and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Franklin Park, Illinois. Completed plans call civil work for a bridge / tunnel.
As of August 1, 2024, an awarded contractor has been announced. A firm construction timeline has not been obtained. The scope of the work shall consist of partial demolition of existing Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) Bridge abutments (including pile extraction) and existing Taft Avenue abutments, Bridge Number (BN) 1663 (I-490 Northbound) and BN 1662 (I-490 Southbound) construction, retaining wall construction, grading and stockpile construction, enclosed drainage system construction, installation of fire suppression system, permanent underpass and railroad security lighting, erosion and sediment control measures, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) infrastructure, maintenance of traffic, and other miscellaneous work. *Addendum #1, #2, #3 and #4 have been posted. *The owner requests that all subcontractor / supplier inquiries be directed to the GC Bidder. *Project information, including timeline and contacts, has been obtained through public sources.
