The renovation project will begin after SandVenture closes for the 2022 season and is expected to be complete by June 2023. ___________________________________________________________________________ The City of Shakopee has retained Confluence, USAquatics and MSR Design for the redevelopment of SandVenture, the city of Shakopee's outdoor sand pool. The proposed project includes replacement of the current liner and sand in the pool area along with major improvements to create a facility that can be used all year. It is also contemplated that the existing buildings will be demolished, and new changing facilities constructed along with a new entrance, offices and a new restaurant. Final plans and specifications are scheduled to be completed by July 1, 2022, followed by bidding and award of the construction contract on or about September 1, 2022, just after the pool closes for the winter. Construction is scheduled for completion before the pool opens again in June 2023. The City reserves the right to disqualify any proposal or to reject all proposals if it is deemed to be in its best interest.
