Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Petawawa, Ontario. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.

Rehabilitation of County Structure B203 (Petawawa River Bridge) in the Town of Petawawa. The scope of work for the Rehabilitation of Structure B203 (Petawawa River Bridge) includes full depth asphalt removal on deck and approach slabs and removal of existing expansion joints and approach slabs. The works also involve scarifying the bridge deck, sidewalks and safety curb surfaces as well as removal the faces of curbs. Full depth concrete removals at the ends of the deck and localized full and partial depth removals throughout the deck are included. Ballast walls are to be completely removed and reconstructed. The two watermains below the bridge will require temporary support along the full length of the bridge and in the excavation behind the ballast walls. Utility ducts in the sidewalk and safety curb will also required temporary support within the excavation. The existing railings on the parapet wall will be removed and new custom structural railing will be installed. The bridge deck, sidewalk and safety curb will be overlaid with concrete. Deck drains will be modified to accommodate the new asphalt elevation, and two new deck drains will be installed on the bridge. New expansion joint assemblies will be installed at the ends of the bridge and the ends of the existing girders will be cleaned and coated. New approach slabs will be installed and the bridge and approaches will be re-paved. Work on the bridge approaches includes removal and replacement of curb, gutter and sidewalk within 10m of the ends of the bridge. All approach guide rail and end treatments will be removed and replaced. The two catch basins located on the north approach will require adjustment to suit the new asphalt elevation. The lead pipes between the catch basins and the catch basin outlet will also be replaced. Hard copy Specifications and Tender forms may be obtained from the Department for a non-refundable fee of one hundred ($100) dollars, unless otherwise stated. Notes: There was a typo in Addendum #1 for PWC-2022-56 Rehabilitation of County Structure B203 (Petawawa River Bridge). 6th bullet of first section. Item 69 - "Stainless Steel Mechanical Connectors" to be replaced with Item 68 - "Galvanized Mechanical Connectors"
