Design plans call for the construction of a 80,000-square-foot, four-story above grade clubhouse / community center; for site work for a clubhouse / community center; 88-seat day care center; and fitness / recreation center.

Development near Varna Drive and Ranee Avenue for construction for a Net Zero Emissions Building (NZEB) hub facility which includes a new Lawrence Heights Community Recreation Centre (LH CRC). The 80,000 sq ft facility may include: a six-lane, 25-metre lane pool; a leisure/tot pool; a double gymnasium with raised walking track; universal change rooms and washrooms; fitness/dance/aerobic studios; multi-purpose rooms; a community kitchen; a large lobby; administrative space; an active green-roof; an outdoor playground with splash pad; indigenous place-keeping elements; and WIFI access throughout the building. Within the development is a proposed 10,000 sq ft new childcare centre for 88 spaces (10 for infants, 30 for toddlers, and 48 for preschool children). It would feature dedicated playrooms, a kitchen, a laundry room, a toy washing station, a parent/staff resource room, and universal washrooms. The facility will also include: parent/staff resource room; laundry room/toy washing station; kitchen; universal washrooms; lobby area; infant playroom/sleep room; toddler playrooms; pre-school playrooms; and administrative and technical space. TIMELINE: Designs are ongoing. Tender and construction timelines have yet to be finalized. Further update early 2026. *Joint federal and municipal investment for this project is approx. 158 million. *The federal government is investing 25 million in this project through the Green and Inclusive Community Buildings program (GICB) and the City of Toronto is planning to contribute 128 million.
