The University of Kansas (KU) is soliciting written responses to this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the purpose of selecting a firm to assist the University in evaluating our current security camera hardware and placement, infrastructure, monitoring equipment and software. See the details in the attached Scope of Work. Questions: Questions requesting clarification of the Solicitation must be submitted through the eUniversity's Ebid Document Questions Tab, prior to 12:00 Noon CT on April 4, 2022. Each question or clarification should reference the appropriate Solicitation section. The current camera system is the Pelco VideoXpert system with almost 1,000 Cameras connected via the University network to a Central Bank of recorders housed at Price computing. Services for this effort are anticipated to include: o Evaluate our current security camera systems and associated infrastructure. o Evaluate security camera solutions that are currently manufactured and recommend best of class systems for our use. o Evaluate current monitoring and recording systems. o Evaluate current monitoring and recording systems that are currently manufactured and recommend best in class systems for our use. o From the current system evaluation, make recommendations regarding better coverage across both main and west campus on the Lawrence Campus. o From the current system evaluation, make infrastructure improvement recommendations. o The reuse of existing equipment and infrastructure in place shall be considered in recommendations. o Recommend priorities for this work. o Provide estimates for the priorities. o Provide a security camera master plan. The effort will be funded through internal sources by the University. The total cost of this work will include all consultants, sub-consultants, expenses (including those which might be considered reimbursable) and final documentation. Fees will be negotiated with the selected firm. After selection of the consultant team and successful execution of the Agreement (estimated Spring of 2022), the University expects to proceed with a planning process that will engage Operations, KU Public Safety Office and representatives of the campus community. KU anticipates the entire process will take no more than four (4) months to complete and will be completed by July, 2022. The University reserves the right to reject proposals which contain errors.
