This project will cover the reconstruction of the Eagle Heights Elementary School Driveway. We will be removing and replacing the entire west approach and 550 linear feet of the east approach (240 SY). In total, this project will require almost 250 SY of new 8" PCC on top of 12" of modified sub-base. In addition, we will be installing sub-drain along the entirety of the removed and replace sections that will tie into previously installed sub-drain, in total there will be nearly 950 LF of sub-drain. Most important to the construction of this project will be the requirement for it to be completely finished during the summer months so as not to impact the school year. Bids will be considered by the City of Clinton City Council at its' meeting in Council Chambers in City Hall, 611 South Third Street, Clinton, Iowa on the 26 th day of April, 2022. The City Council may award a Contract at said meeting, or at such other time and place as shall then be announced. The above work shall be commenced as soon as possible after the contract and bond have been approved by the City Attorney and have been signed by the Mayor and City Clerk. The notice to proceed for this project shall be issued on or before June 10, 2022. The start date/late start date shall be June 13, 2022. Final completion, including all seeding and punch-list items, shall be August 12, 2022. Liquidated damages shall be per Special Conditions. Each Bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8, as security that the successful Bidder will enter into a Contract for the work bid upon and will furnish after the award of Contract a corporate Surety Bond, in a form acceptable to the City of Clinton, for the faithful performance of the Contract, in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the Contract. The City of Clinton does hereby reserve the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract, or contracts, as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the City.
