PURPOSE: The Virginia Department of Transportation, herein referred to as "VDOT," is soliciting bids from qualified firms to furnish all labor, tools, materials, incidentals and equipment necessary to fabricate and install Metal Panels and Doors affixed to concrete. Metal Panels shall be installed in accordance with the specifications herein at the Rosslyn Tunnel in the Equipment Fan Rooms along 1300 Lee Hwy, Arlington, VA 22209 in Northern Virginia. PERIOD OF CONTRACT: Ninety (90) calendar days from the date of award. QUESTIONS REGARDING THIS eVA QUICK QUOTE: Any questions regarding this quick quote shall be addressed to Nasir Chhipa via email at nasir.chhipa@vdot.virginia.gov. The issuing office shall determine whether any addendum should be issued as a result of any questions or other matters raised. SCOPE OF WORK: Contractor shall furnish all labor, tools, materials, incidentals and equipment necessary to fabricate galvanized panels and doors. Panel fabrication shall match existing construction. All material shall be hot dip galvanized. Existing panels/doors shall be removed and properly disposed of New fabricated panels shall match existing construction Panels shall be fabricated utilizing 2" x 2" x 1/4" angle iron Complete panels shall be hot dip galvanized after completion Expanded metal shall be welded to the angle iron. Note: The expanded metal shall not be sandwiched together using nuts and bolts. Panels shall be fabricated using 1/2 " No. 16 flattened expanded metal in full sheets. Where full sheets are not possible there shall be a brace installed and welded. Contractor shall use the existing mounting studs in the concrete structure to fasten the panels to the wall. Contractor shall replace mounting studs if they are found to be lose and fill the holes with epoxy. Where needed, the contractor shall replace anchors with 3/8" x 4" Concrete Wedge Anchors. New anchors shall be galvanized and installed to properly secure the panels to the concrete structure. Panel with Doors: At a minimum the doors shall be 36" Wide x 80" Tall Continuous hinges shall be use and welded onto the angle iron Stainless steel padlock hasp shall be installed on the doors and aligned properly for easy Brush style door sweeps shall be installed on the bottom of each door. The door sweeps shall be affixed to the bottom of the door so it can be replaced without having to remove the door. Field measurements provided in Attachment D. are estimates. It shall be the contractor's responsibility to field measure all partitions and doors prior to fabrication and installation.
