Remodeling of an office development in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. Completed plans call for the remodel of a office development.

Project includes the interior remodel of the structure located in the approximately 26,935 finished square feet space located at 7970 Brooklyn Blvd N. and various appurtenant work. Each bid shall be accompanied by bid security equal to five percent of the amount of the bid, which shall be forfeited to the EDA in the event the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract, provide the required insurance or to furnish performance or payment bonds. The bid security shall be a bid bond issued by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Minnesota and acceptable to the EDA, or a certified check or cashiers check from a federally insured bank, payable to Economic Development Authority of Brooklyn Park. Any prime contractor or subcontractor that does not meet the minimum criteria established for a responsible contractor as defined in Minnesota Statutes Section 16C.285, subdivision 3 or fails to verify that it meets those criteria is not a responsible contractor and is not eligible to be awarded a contract for the project or to perform work on the project. A false statement under oath verifying compliance with any of the minimum criteria shall make the prime contractor or subcontractor that makes the false statement ineligible to be awarded the project and may result in termination of the contract awarded to a prime contractor or subcontractor that submits a false statement. A prime contractor shall submit to the EDA, upon request, copies of the signed verifications of compliance from all subcontractors. If awarded the contract, the bidder will be required to execute and deliver payment and performance bonds, each for an amount no less than the total estimated amount of the contract and evidence of all required insurance. The bidder will also be required to enter into a contract with the EDA. The required terms of the contract are set forth in the Bid Specifications/Instructions. The EDA reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities and informalities therein and to award the contract to other than the lowest bidder if, in its discretion, the interests of the EDA would be best served thereby. The bids will be opened and read aloud at the Brooklyn Park City Hall on April 15, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. The Economic Development Authority will consider awarding of the bid at a special meeting on April 25, 2022 at 5:00 p.m., but may delay taking action until a later meeting.
