Region: 2 Counties: El Paso Projects: STM1151-038 SH 115 MP 27.71 to 37.04. Roadway pavement is being rehabilitated through a combination of full depth reclamation, HMA overlay, and concrete white topping. The extents of the FDR and HMA overlay treatment are from Sta. 201+00 to Sta. 615+00. The extents of the concrete white topping are from Sta. 615+00 to Sta. 694+17.69. NB and SB passing lanes are being added between Sta. 201+00 and Barrett Road (Sta. 291+00). These passing lanes will require roadway widening with an asphalt pavement section. The addition of passing lanes will require the extension of three box culverts. Roadside ditches will be included in areas of the project. Several cylindrical culverts will be extended to accommodate widening and ditch improvements. Right turn deceleration lanes are being added at Tierra Rojo Drive, Rancho Pave Drive, Paseo Corto, Roca Roja Circle, and Calle Del Fuente. Minor bridge rehabilitation will be completed at Str. J-17-A over Little Turkey Creek and at Str. J-17- AA over Big Turkey Creek. An ITS line will be installed from approximately MP 33.6 to MP 39. The new ITS line will service a weather monitoring station and dynamic message sign. Type 3 and type 9 guardrail will be replaced and added in areas. Existing signage will be replaced, and additional signs added in areas. New striping and rumble strips will also be included. MP 37.04 to MP 38.94 Roadway pavement is being rebuilt with 8" concrete and widened to 4 lanes with a painted 6' median. A left turn lane will be added NB and a right turn lane SB at Old Canon City Rd. 5 accesses will be updated to meet new roadway in the area. The bridge over Rock Creek will be replaced with a much larger bridge to accommodate the wider roadway. All guardrail, ditches, signage, striping, rumble strips, and delineators will be updated along this portion of the corridor.
