Renovation of an educational facility in Shelbyville, Tennessee. Working plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Construction includes replacement existing fire alarm system throughout the school. Bid bond in the amount of 5% of the total bid. The bond is required as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, a contract will be entered into. Refer to bid documents for complete bidding instructions. A Payment, Performance, Labor and Materials (PPLM) Bond in the amount of 100% of the contract sum, issued by a bonding company licensed to do business in the State of Tennessee and acceptable to the Owner. Bond is required of the successful bidder to guarantee faithful performance of work under the contract. The scope of this project consists of installing and turning over to the Owner an analog addressable Fire Alarm System with automatic and manual voice alarm. The system shall include, but not be limited to, control panel computer processing unit, digital voice module, alarm initiating and indicating peripheral devices, cable, and accessories required to provide a complete and operational interconnected system. B. The fire alarm system supplier shall include all the necessary cost associated to provide training for Owner's personnel (total of 2 persons) to perform maintenance of the system. This cost shall include all transportation and expenses associated with training. In addition to training the system installer shall make available to the owner the ability to purchase as needed replacement parts and components for the installed system. C. All references to manufacturer's or supplier's model numbers and other pertinent information herein is intended to establish the minimum standards of performance, function and quality of the equipment for this project. All equipment and material shall be new and unused, and listed by Underwriter's Laboratories for the specific intended purpose. All control panel components and field peripherals shall be designed for continuousduty without degradation of function or performance. All equipment covered by this specification or noted on Installation Drawings shall be the best equipment suited for the application and shall be provided by a single manufacturer or be recognized and UL listed as compatible by each manufacturer. D. The Engineered Systems Communications and Alarm Contractor shall be the local Factory authorized and certified distributor of the equipment specified with a minimum of two factory trained and currently certified technicians and have represented the proposed brand at the minimum for the last 5 consecutive years. E. The engineered systems communications and alarm contractor must have a permanent office located within a maximum of 75 aeronautical miles of the facility and this office shall be and have been continually staffed with installation and technical service personnel. This office shall have been open and in operation for a minimum of 5 consecutive years prior to this bid. Provide with the bid proposal, Documentation to corroborate compliance with the distance limitation and the minimum office operation time requirement. F. The engineered systems communications and alarm contractor must have a minimum of two (2) senior technicians that have been trained by the proposed fire alarm system brand's factory training department. These technicians shall be full time employees of the ESCAC and shall have been permanently stationed at the bidder's office, which is located within 75 miles of the facility, for a minimum of the last 5 consecutive years. Include with bid proposal, copies of the technician's factory training diplomas with verification that the factory training covered the system model the bidders is proposing.Section Includes:1. Fire-alarm control unit with voice evacuation 2. Manual fire-alarm boxes. 3. System smoke detectors. 4. Heat detectors. 5. Notification appliances. 6. Hold open door release. 7. Remote annunciator. 8. Addressable interface device. 9. Digital alarm communicator transmitter. 10. Radio alarm transmitter. Base Bid consists of all labor, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, permits, and related items necessary for Liberty Elementary School Fire Alarm Replacement, Shelbyville, Tennessee. All Work shall be performed in strict accordance with the Contract Documents. A. Work includes all items below, plus all items identified in the Contract Documents: 1. Replacement of the roof membrane systems with attached roof membrane. 2. Remove and replace roof access hatch with new and integrate railing. 3. Remove and replace exterior fixed roof ladder. 4. Remove and replace all flashing. Project has been rejected
