ALLEGHENY COUNTY JAIL COMPACTOR REPLACEMENT ---Questions Due Date: Apr 6th 2022, 11:30 AM EDT The successful company will be expected to provide a self-contained compactor, 34 cubic yard to include the following equipment dimensions and performance capacities: 1. Clear top feed opening at least 41" in length and x 58" wide to handle large, bulky items 2. Compactor capacity must be able to handle 100 cubic yards of wet or general waste materials. 3. Compactor cycle time completion must be within 35 seconds 4. Compactor must have at least a total normal force capacity of 39,900 to a maximum force of 49,500 tons 5. Compactor capacity should have a normal ram-face pressure of 27.1 psi and a maximum ram-face pressure of 33.7 psi 6. Must have standard controls with an electric control voltage capacity of 120 VAC and motor of 3/60/230-460-10 horse power 7. Compactor is required to have a 2 Push Button Station Start/Stop control with remote push button control station capabilities on 13' Sealtite 8. Compactor must be able to handle all-temperature hydraulic fluid and hydraulic cylinder of 2 in. with a hydraulic pump of 9 gpm 9. Compactor is required to have a normal pressure capacity of 1850 psi and maximum Pressure capacity of 2300 psi 10. Compactor must have a remote power unit with 10 HP, 460 volt, 3 phase motor, 30 amp,.to quickly disconnect on the left side; to quickly disconnect the power unit to the packing head. 11. Compactor must have 15' container guide rails with stops and color-coded pressure gauge 12. Compactor must have the capacity to be feed continuously - even while the compactor is operating. 13. Must be easily loadable from either ground or dock level 14. Must be equipped with a rear feed doghouse loading enclosure with interlocked cellar doors, extended to rear with 10" lip 15. Must be able to hold up to 24 tons of crushing force to reduce refuse to a fraction of its former size. 16. Compactor must provide for a fire hose connection 17. Must be made of leak proof construction with a P Seal watertight closure 18. Compactor must protect the charge-box floor from the full force of the packing ram with specially formulated cast-iron shoes for replaceable wear strips which reduce compaction-robbing friction. 19. Must have a standard quick clean tank which can funnel liquid seepage occurring during compaction into an enclosed area underneath the charge-box floor. 20. Must be equipped with a quick clean door on the packer end to make cleaning out behind the ram-in-cylinder area easier 21. Reliable, solid-state circuity with a cycon life-xtender no-shock cycle control for extended cylinder and hose wear life and eliminate all pressure limit switches 22. The compactor must have an automatic container full assurance system allowing the ram dwells to function against a load at full pressure. 23. Must have an advanced hydraulic design to enable the system to operate at minimum pressure levels until the need for more pressure is automatically sensed 24. Successful proposer mut paint the compactor provided. 25. Compactor must have a 3/8" push plate- includes 3rd hinge; 1/2 " wear strips on rails; ground roller stiffeners; 1/2 " charge box floor and ram face; full weld interior of container (except roof); 1/4 " container floor; stainless steel cylinder pins; external hydraulic hose protection. 26. Compactor must have a cycon life-xtender cycle control option for improved cold-weather performance and provide for accurate advance warning or container full options 27. Successful proposer must be able to deliver and install compactor with freight included 28. Successful proposer must haul away and recycle/dispose of old compactor 29. Capacity must have Ram Penetration 6" Ram Face Size (W x H) 60 x 24 1/2 ; in Bore 4 in.;Rod 2 1/2 in.;Stroke 31 1/2 in (See dimensions below)
