Site work for a mixed-use development in Hooper Bay, Alaska. Completed plans call for site work for a educational facility.
Project Location: Hooper Bay,Alaska. The new school in Hooper Bay will be located at the southern edge of the village on Tomaganuk Hill. It will be connected to Tomaganuk Road by a new road that will cross a slough area. The site is undeveloped, relatively flat, and poorly drained with tundra vegetation. Work for this project in the base bid includes all required to install permanent foundations for five 28,000 gallon fuel oil tanks with skids. Foundations are to be driven steel piles and frames. Piles are to be cathodically protected. Work includes installation of a manufactured modular catwalk system and an engineered support framing system. Additional improvements include aboveground piping system replacement, electrical modifications, lighting replacement, and perimeter fencing replacement. Temporary fuel storage, mechanical and electrical, and operation is required. Transfer of fuel for temporary storage as needed to complete work is the contractor's responsibility. Additive Alternate A includes providing five new horizontal steel tanks (28,000-gallon nominal capacity) with an integrated catwalk system.
